池探长在 investigating a bizarre death case where the victim, Zhao Bingcheng, was found with five different fatal injuries. During a dinner gathering with five friends, Zhao had joked about how they would kill him if given the chance, describing specific methods for each friend. Tragically, Zhao was found dead in his home just days later, and each of the killing methods he had mentioned during the dinner were gruesomely realized on his body. With all five friends as potential suspects,池探长 begins to uncover the complex relationships between Zhao and his acquaintances.池探长 deduces that identifying which killing method was the first one used will reveal the true identity of the murderer. As the investigation unfolds,池探长 discovers that Zhao had been investigating a series of mysterious deaths linked to a group of people who could "possess" others to commit crimes.池探长 realizes that Zhao had been targeting his own friends as part of his investigation, and the final killer is actually Zhao's own "替身" (替身), a person who can take over others' bodies to commit crimes. The film concludes with a shocking twist that challenges the notion of good and evil.
