The queen gives birth to the princess and the king invites many people to celebrate the coming of this baby. However, he forgets to invite one woman who is a witch. The witch is very angry and she curses the whole country goes to sleep when the princess is 16 years old so she can conquer the whole country.
When the princess holds her 16 years old birthday, she is hurt by an awl and the whole country goes to sleep. Thousands years later, one princess finds several letters written by the princess and decides to save her. He goes to the castle and meets with many huge monsters created by the witch. Having overcome many difficulties, the prince kisses the princess and they lead a happy life in the end.
Disney has made many movies and the sleeping beauty is just one of them. These movies have one common element---fairytale romance and the sleeping beauty is a typical example. The prince loves the princess just because the letter written by the princess is really great so he wants to rescue her despite of the difficulties he may come across. The love is simple and true, easy for children to understand. However adults love this movie, too, including me. This movie stresses the meaning of the true love---simple and pure and the also the heroism. It gives a lot of fight scenes, which is not cruel but brave---a good education especially for young boys.
The sleeping beauty has many similarities with the Beauty and Beast which is showing at cinemas now. They are both made by Disney and both fairy tales. Even the background is similar. Many people love them so much. 这篇影评有剧透
